The 17th Awesome Inc U Web Developer Bootcamp class has graduated and the first offers have been extended!

The first bootcamp cohort graduated in the Fall of 2016. Since then we’ve responded to the market needs and adjusted our tech stack to better align with updated technology, high quality documentation, and the evolution of AI. The graduating class that launched in June 2024 was trained in JavaScript, React, Python, Django, and Agile Frameworks. These 13 new developers were not only able to build and deploy their full-stack capstone, the pinnacle of training, but THREE full stack applications in total within 16 weeks.

Cohort 17 was able to integrate and accelerate their learning in the classroom by responsibly and creatively utilizing AI support to enhance their understanding of topics introduced by the instructors. Through individual and group discussions, these developers tested the boundaries of using AI to enhance skills or shortcut them. This group also quickly built teamwork and leadership skills by supporting each other through roadblocks and untimely technology updates.

In the post-work phase the new developers are continuing to hone their skills by diving deeper into their tech stack, exploring software adjacent roles such as test automation, quality assurance and software support through informational interviews and research, as well as meeting with mentors and tech community leaders who are able to provide guidance for deeper learning and connections to opportunities locally and remotely.

Throughout the post-work phase, also known as the job search phase, developers meet weekly with their career coach and attend lunch and learn sessions delivered by software engineers, project managers, and HR professionals aimed at helping them level up their skills and resumes as they prepare for their first roles in tech.

Over 80 businesses have hired from the Web Developer Bootcamp. The reason so many organizations turn to Awesome Inc U to find their new team members is because each graduate of the program was vetted through an application process and trained by professional web developers with skills and workplace knowledge necessary to help graduates step into dev teams successfully. Awesome Inc U candidates are also professionals. The typical graduate has 6-12 years of work experience and has chosen to pause their career growth and pivot into their passion- development. If a business owner or dev team manager is looking for a great addition to their team, they can easily work with the career team at Awesome Inc to find the right talent for their needs.

Awesome Inc U believes in community, and therefore maintains connections with alumni in order to continue to build the ecosystem of support and growth fostered in the bootcamp program. We encourage our graduates to lean in and build networks in order to increase their skills and prepare for their next professional step. Awesome Inc U is there to cheer them on, and help them make connections along the way! We love when they reach back out to let us know they’re searching for their next role- and we do what we can to connect them to a next level opportunity through our LinkedIn group, companies in our community, or remote teams that stay in contact with us.
